Mike Judd

Mike has extensive civil engineering experience in the fields of construction, consulting and Local Authority work. He has worked in South Africa, several other countries in Southern Africa, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
His design experience is in heavy structures in the UK and in the latter stages of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme, road and rail bridges, rural and urban highways, and municipal developments. He spent some years on various sites as the (full-time) Engineer’s Representative, and even longer in an office environment as the Engineer / Superintendent and Project Manager.
His recent experience has been working for Local Authorities in New Zealand and Australia where he continued in management positions while engaged in engineering design roles undertaking road and municipal work, and also as the Superintendent. Mentoring graduate engineers, supervising more experienced engineers and technical design staff, and preparing tender and contract documents (infrastructure procurement) have been the main focus of the past ten years.
For several years Mike served as external examiner and guest lecturer for final year university civil engineering and post-graduate students. He has served on general and executive committees for several professional and community bodies. Internationally, he has authored, presented and had published over 20 papers on civil engineering and contract management matters.
