Brian Farmer
Associate
Brian is an Associate with CCI. He is an experienced strategic analyst and project manager/project director. His particular skills cover the full range of expertise necessary for the strategic analysis, establishment and directing of major projects, and correcting problem projects.
Brian has had at various times executive responsibility and management of many major projects, including:
health-related projects;
advanced materials handling technology distribution centres; c
high rise residential/office developments;
major retail projects;
different types of engineering construction, including sewer and water projects, pumping stations, treatment plants, tunnels and stormwater systems.
Brian has consulted widely on private sector infrastructure projects, tender and contract strategies, probity advice, tender processes, and contract documentation.
He is past Chairman of Standards Australias Contracts Committee which updated AS2124 and completed AS4000 General Conditions of Contract, its associated suite of contracts and guideline documents.
He has been accredited as
an economic appraisals consultant
a value management practitioner
a probity auditor/advisor
a Grade 1 engineering arbitrator and as a mediator
a risk management specialist.
As an experienced strategic analyst, Brian has directed major studies and projects and undertakes difficult and sensitive assignments that can range from advice to governments on risk strategies and contract analysis, through contracting processes, to construction industry dispute resolution.
Brian is an author of a range of publications and a past Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales.
